autodeop does not seem to work.
« on: July 31, 2006, 08:47:53 PM »

I seem to be having a problem on anope 1.7.14 getting autodeop to work, I am not sure if it is a bug or if it is something i am doing wrong. I have tried with autodeop set at -1 (default) and 0 with the same results.

-ChanServ- Level for AUTODEOP on channel #lobby changed to 0.
-ChanServ-    93    -1  crashdummy
--> crashdummy (xxxx@xxxx) has joined #lobby
--- XGizzmo gives channel operator status to crashdummy

Now chanServ should have deop'ed crashdummy but did not. If i enable secureops then chanserv does deop anyone with out op access level. There are no ulined servers in services.conf.

Why would the access list cause deop a user if YOU opped them? - The access list is checked upon entry, not after you on your client opped them. Secure ops checks constantly.

I can only wonder whether you should set autoop to 0 and then autodeop to -1.

Ok then maybe i dont understand what autodeop is supposed to do.

-ChanServ-          0   No special privileges; can be opped by other
-ChanServ-                      ops (unless secure-ops is set).
-ChanServ-         <0   May not be opped.

That makes it sound like anyone with a access level less than 0 can not be opped.
