I have searched this forum and googles for an answer but alas none of the fixes work

I am new to this but have installed anope on a linux box and got right to the end and did the debug and get:

FATAL: Can't connect to server: Connection refused

my config looks like this:
RemoteServer irc.torrent-net.com 6667 "services"
ServerName  "irc.torrent-net.com"

I have the domain torent-net.com on a plesk panel and have created a subdomian called irc

What am i missing???

Hi,

Firstly, the error is implying anope cannot connect to your ircd on port 6667 so check what IP irc.torrent-net.com resolves to on the box or better still replace it with your assigned IP.

ServerName should NOT be the same as your ircd name, try services.torrent-net.com.

Once we have the above info it might make it easier to troubleshoot.
