One more interesting thing.
Add option like for akick

When you type /cs access #channel view that got reply like this

ChanServ - 1 5 network by Viper

That's shows name of user who add it to acc list
Or try more to add time of adding access, and when were last used :)

Thnx

hmm to extend it a bit more: timed access.
So you can add by (e.g.) " /cs access #channel user 5 20d "
So the user gets this accesslevel for 20 days.

I'm not really aware about the sense of my suggested feature. But maybe there are some chanops that want to give temporary access to users and forget to take that access manually off after a while.

akick already has a view option, try: /chanserv help akick.

>> ChanServ: Autokick list for #IRCMojo:
>> ChanServ: 1 b?l!*@*.dsl.nsw.optusnet.com.au (by katsklaw on Jun 03 2007) No reason

I don't think that can be done with a module. iirc, the current channel struct doesn't support tracking the adding chanop to access, so it would require core code changes which will not happen until 1.8-Stable is released at the very earliest.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

To be clear, I'm not a coder. I've written a few modules and I'm on the QA Team, but I'm not a coder on the development team.

That is really nice idea.
I had sent an email to development team for this 1 month ago.
It is already discussed here :)

So is there any improvement on this issue?

/cs access #chan view

will be wonderful for administration.

Errm. As I remember: isn't only the channelowner permitted to set access?

Depends of levels on chan,

You can set that Sop's can add Aop's , Hop's and Vop's
Aop's sets Hop's
etc.

Actually you're right.
You can give that permission to the founder with changing the level set.

But if you have 5-6 Admins in your server, you will want to know who adds that access :)

Bye default SOP's can add users to the access list, as the level for ACC-CHANGE is 10 which is equivilent to SOP

This thread is about channel access, admins hav nothing to do with it. There is a difference between what the channel operators do and what opers and admins do and they should not be mixed or confused with one another.

Channels are owned by the channel founder, not by IRCops/admins on the network. Chanops operate channels, ircop operate servers. So the 2 don't need to be in the same conversation.
