1.7.16 cant find mysql
«

for some reason when i compiled 1.7.16 on my box it was unable to find the mysql libraries even though they are installed. they were discovered and worked just fine with 1.7.15. was something changed in the way anope looks for the mysql libraries with this release or is it more likely that mysql on the box is broken?

The detection method was changed, altough i'm not sure if that was before or after the release of 1.7.15. Try to run mysql_config, if it can't be found then that is your issue.

mysql_config is located in /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config so that seems to be fine.
