upgrading & downgrading.... Anope 1.7.x
« on: September 02, 2006, 09:32:30 AM »

im currently using  Anope 1.7.14..... if i was to upgrade to  Anope 1.7.15, the db files should still work.... but if for some reason i needed to downgrade back to  Anope 1.7.14... would the db files work as they should, or does formatting between the 2 versions corrupt the information in the db files.... kind of a wack question, but i was wondering

The databases should work fine with 1.7.15.

best thing to do if you do want to make sure you still have the db files if it goes wrong, is copy the .db files to another folder like /services-backup/ or something. then you can always restore them if something goes wrong

why would you want to downgrade to an older version though....
and i m not entirely sure about that tom, the autoop functionality was moved from its own database to nickserv.db when moving it from a module to implementing it into the core... as far as i know that s irreversable. i don't know what effect that would have on using such a database in 1.7.14, what i do know is that the autoop settings will be unreachable for the old autoop module...
