auto DB backup failing?
« on: October 15, 2009, 07:31:09 AM »

Code: [Select]
[19:02:10] --Teh-Nook.com-- *** Global -- from OperServ: WARNING! Backup of nick.db failed.
[19:02:10] --Teh-Nook.com-- *** Global -- from OperServ: WARNING! Backup of bot.db failed.

[19:02:10] --Teh-Nook.com-- *** Global -- from OperServ: WARNING! Backup of exception.db failed.

I keep getting this notice every now and then im my console window. Im assuming its auto backup since nobody is backing them up manually.

Anyone know the deal and how I can fix this?

You need to create  a  backups  directory in your  ~/services  folder   or wherever you have your database files save to.

I already have a folder named "Backup" within the "Data" folder. I just added another folder named "Backup" in the "Services" folder.

Ill see what happens

If you read what Cronus put in his post, you'd notice that what he said and what you said are not the same.  Plus you've never mentioned if you are using running Anope under *nix or under Windows, which would change things a bit.

I've seen windows do lots of funny (read: stupid) things with back ups and anope.

Firstly, lets make sure you have a directory named correctly, and for the sake of sanity, make sure the file permissions allow "everyone" full control and see if that sorts it.

If not, zip up your whole anope directory and email me it ( chaz@anope.org ) and I'll see if I can see why it's happening on a testnet.
