ChanServ not setting access modes at all
« on: September 13, 2009, 04:39:21 AM »

When a user is on the access list at any number, when they /join or /hop or whatever the case is, they are never directly moded. They have the ability to mode themselves and must do so directly with the correct command. Not only this but its temporary. Once they leave the channel they lose their mode so they have to mode themselves EVERYTIME they join.

Any ideas why?

[Im new at this, by the way, mind my amateurishness]

/ns set autoop on

furthermore, look at services.conf. Find NSDefAutoop and uncomment it if commented.

Even thought after they type /msg NickServ set AUTOOP ON? and what about NSModeOnID in services.conf, is it uncommented too?

Did you restart after uncommenting NSDefAutoOp?

If so, register a new nick and check whether AutoOp is listed in /ns info nick all

NSModeOnID will also be useful should they join the channel before they identify.

Thanks to the above for posting.

A server restart fixed my problem. I went through all my options and figured, the last thing left would be to kill the server and restart and see if that fixed it and viola it did.

Thank you, regardless I never even noticed autoop
