Keep trying to connect..

Well recently, the server i've got my services connecting to is dropping out of connection most of the time when i'm away from the computer for hours so i can't be there to re start the services, so is there a way i can make the services keep trying to connect till they do?

use crontab script to automatically restart services every n minutes if they arent running.

Im using anopechk and it works fine for about an hour or so then it starts to give me messages saying its trying to connect when the services are already connected. Is there any possible reason you can think of to why it does this?
