Restore flushes database
« on: October 29, 2007, 12:10:03 AM »

Hello everybody :)

I'll try to backup and restore my database (MySQL) where anope stores his data. In my case, I try to restore it on a second machine with an other file hirachie. (maybe it is useful to know). The configuration of Anope is equal (excl. the pathes).
At first, I read the full database (via MySQL Administrator Backup function, which creates SQL-Statemenst).
2nd, I take this backup and restore it to the database of the second machine.
If I start know anope, it flushes the complete database.

I'll try to copy *.db files of machine 1 to machine 2, and restore the database agein ... I'll get the same: an empty database.

Could anybody explain me please, who I get a functional backup?

Thx in advanced.

Marco

copy the .db files over to the second manchine while Anope is NOT running. Then start Anope.
