Identify don't work!
« on: August 26, 2007, 01:02:57 PM »

Hello,

I have a problem with the identify. When a user register and then he reconnects to the server. Then he types /ns identify pw and NickServ say incorrect password. Then I drop the nick and he register his nick new and then he reconnects and does identify. NickServ say incorrect password. The other users have no problems with the identify only the one user. The password are only letters. I user Naope 1.7.19 (with mysql) & Unreal 3.2.7.

Have the user try a password that is easy like: test123

Perhaps it's the password Anope doesn't like.

then something is wrong with your installation or database files .. because that would be a huge issue otherwise as thousands of other networks use /ns identify and used tens of thousands of times per day across IRC.

what is the users nickname?

That doesn't matter. the identify fuction deffinately works, there is something wrong with either your databases or your installation.

"Encoding: sha"

What's that? MysqlSecure? What encryption module have you got loaded?

That's what I mean:

EncModule "enc_sha1"
MysqlSecure "sha"

You shouldn't enable both. You should have one or the other, otherwise things could start to get a bit messy. I'd disable MysqlSecure, and UseRDB, and leave EncModule.
