Hi I have had a problem here a user forgotten his password. Then what I did was think of nickserv and yeah I found a way to retrive it and that was with the:

/msg NickServ  SENDPASS nickname

that didn't work for her so I had to do the oper thing and do it myself then I found out she had gotten a email send on status window.

But of COURSE she had FORGOTTEN the email she signed up with. Now I got to do it and Im wondering of the ways to do that?

Im sorry I always a trouble for the Anope community but I sure an read readme's unlike most peoples.

This kind of thing isn't covered in readme's ... just use your best judgement. Personally, I'd tell her the email address NickServ has on file and tell her to go check it.

The problem is Im not sure how to find out what email she signed up with and she wants to know so she can get the password for her nick.

Also Im not sure where to find it like:

Is there a command to find it
can I find it in the Anope folder


Also I have fysical access meaning I can look at files inside anop but I would really appreciate if I could get a way that it could be done in commands to in case I were to assign some trustworthy IRCops

As oper you should be familiar with custom opercommands. And "/ns info <nick> all" is one of this often uses commands by (service)admins. And this example is also the command you need to use to see the email she signed up with. otherwise you did not enable forceemail to register nicknames.

"/ns info <nick> all" did not work. Of course I removed the quotes and put in the nick and the thing I got was "NS Unknown command" in the status Window then I checked "NSForceEmail" and yes that was enabled  and had no # infront. Still thx for your help ^^ I appreciate all the help I get.

use "/msg nickserv" instead of "/ns" if you don't use aliasses (which you obviously don't :p )

Thx mate that one worked fine. I would like to thank all who helped even knowing you can make aliases helps and I have already looked up some nickserv commands guessing that nickserv had to be nickname commands and chanserv had to be channel commands  ^^

it will return something like this

note that normal "/msg NickServ info Viper"
will return something much shorter which does not contain the email address

also note that you need to be Services Administrator or Services Root (check in /msg operserv staff - should say "ADMN" or "ROOT")

Wow you even gave it in full details thanks mate. Also some other vital thing to know is that if you aren't oped then you don't get the info you want. But really nice to know all that Viper but you didn't need to use the info about yourself

Thx anyway all I'll be sure to tell her the email the 1st thing I do when I see her ^^


Edit: Also how did you get Trust is a Weakness on the top  above the root administrator also that clearly is something from Uplink
