Title: Is this possible
Post by: Alex on August 21, 2006, 12:27:26 AM
Hello,

I know it is possible for people that register on a network, to get username@network.name as their e-mail address automatically instead of their private e-mail address, but I have no idea how that is done. Is it a module for that or can it be done in the services.conf file?

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean hostmask instead of email address?

Hello Rob,

No, I mean this if I can use you as an example:

Rob@anope.org

So what I mean is if there are something that can autmatically give the user that register on my network an e-mail address like I showed above used on you. Like when you type in an e-mail addree it will be generated automatically to an e-mail address on the network based on the username.

Do you mean a system where everyone can have an email address at you domain name using their registered nick as the mailbox. For example if i were to register Jobe i would have jobe@yourdomain.com

Exactly Jobe1986. I did maybe explain it in a wrong way, but english isn't my 1st language. That was what I meant.;)

i dont really understand what it is you want - if you want anope to reconfigure your mail server every time someone registers then no, it isnt an available option, you would need to create your own module for it.

Yes Tom65789, that is what I mean, and I know that has been done on another network, using Anope. Now, I'm not a scripter myself and have no idea how to make a module for it. If someone could make a module for it, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

why not just ask the network you saw it on to give you the code?

That's their perogative. Sorry to say but you are just out of luck there unless someone else writes the module for you.
