Title: Memoserv level(s) on Channels
Post by: ups on July 06, 2007, 07:27:46 PM
Hi,

What do you think about using three new chanerv levels (memosend, memoread and memodel) instead of the level memo.

The level memosend (default 5): would be the level needed to send a memo to a channel.

The level memoread (default 5): would be the level needed to read/list memos in channel.

The level memodel (default 10): would be the level needed to delete a memo in channel.

Well shouldnt everyone be allowed to send a memo to the channel?

maybe, its your decision. but there is only ONE levels-directive called: "memo"
you can set it to level 0, so that every registered user can write a channelmemo... but he ALSO can delete it, so here starts the problem these advanced levels could solve ;)
I agree to this idea.

no, sending memos to channel should be restricted to ChanOps at least. Channel memos are used for informing ChanOps of inportant events. Allowing anyone to send channel memos could easily be abused.

Take a popular channel for example, usualy popular channels are targets of abuse, some group of morons decide to send masses of memos to the channel, bam. Hundreds of channel memos to sift through.

Thats why not just any user should be allowed to send memo's to a channel.
