Title: 911 Module
Post by: Joseph on August 03, 2010, 01:56:15 PM
Hi,

There is a 911 module on the anope modules website and i wanted to know if anyone could make it work for anope-1.8.4 because it seems like a really good module.

do you have any details as to what works/doesn't work? It'll make trouble shooting much easier.

it seems like only registered ops can use the command.  it doesnt work globally.

are you referring to bs_911 or bs_999? I need to be sure I have the right module here.

bs_911 does restrict it's use to registered users because it hooks the fantasy event, which IIRC is only for registered users. I'm also thinking that it would require a bs bot in channel too. bs_999 does almost the exact same thing. :(

Personally I think it would be better if use_privmsg and operchan were config values, which is easy enough to do and instead of hooking fantsy, use something more like /bs 911 <text>

To be honest, both modules can be merged and made to do the same thing for both /bs 911 and /bs 999

There is also a bug in bs_999 that makes Anope use privmsg even when it's not set.

Both actually but I didn't know about it being for registered users. I will let my users know

Well if you use Unreal, it's helpop system passes on to all staff that are +h (helpops) any message that the system doesn't recognize.

That means a user can type: /helpop I need assistance in #MyChan ASAP!! and it broadcasts to all the +h users. Usually IRCOps.

Also, perhaps the author(s) will change the behavior to include all users.

you can override the registered users only thing by doing /cs set #chan secure off then doing /cs levels #chan set fantasy -1
