burst & bouncing modes
« on: September 28, 2006, 10:30:56 AM »

Is flooding with OPERWALLs normal behaviour of services (Anope-1.7.15) connecting to ircd-hybrid (7.2.2) or ircd-ratbox (2.2.3)?

Make sure the name you specified in the ServerName parameter in your services.conf file is listed when you do /stats U (thats an upercase U) That is assuming your IRCd returns your ULines for /stats U

If not check your IRCd's config file for the ULines and make sure your services server name is listed. Usually it has to be ULined on ALL servers on a network not just the one its connected to.

IRCd was/is configured properly. As you can see in my log, there is no `bouncing` modes, but +e, +I, +b. There are always problems with them (min. 13 modes set). None of services' commands were rejected.

I see what you mean. Basically Anope is incorrectly reporting the error. But Anope is still registering the mode changes and accepting them.

IF modes work on no channels, it's a ulines issue.
IF modes work on all but 1 server then it's a ulines issue for that server.
IF modes work everywhere except 1 channel then the channel is desynced and needs to be destroyed/created again.

Thanks for the info ...

btw: for what reasons a channel can be desynced?

it's most commonly desynced when it's creation time changes on 1 or more server(s) due to a change in TS offset or from an incorrect timestamp from a server who has the wrong timestamp sent at burst.
