Exception and dynamic IP
« on: June 06, 2012, 04:59:11 PM »

Hello there,

The staff of a channel come from a same place (they are 6) but they have a dynamic IP.
They use a non-ip like, but when they connect, I see their real host. So I've to add an exception each day for it.

Is there a way to have operserv managing it alone ?

I can use a system with an eggdrop getting the IP and automatically add the exception, or creating them a bouncer, but any anope alternative will be better for me.

Thanks by advance.

Regards.

It couldn't be done in Anope itself, this is why most people I know disable anopes session limiting. If it was me, on Unreal for example, I'd use the allow blocks to restrict multiple connections, and have the staff connecting via their own allow block using user/hostmasks or passwords.

Seems to be an alternate solution, I'll keep it in mind.
BTW, I did a bouncer and register the few users, it allows me to secure the network.
