./anoperc: line 141: 29819 Segmentation fault
« on: July 06, 2007, 09:06:27 PM »

Hi,

I just tried to install anope for the first time ever.  But i cannot let it work like i want to. I get a Segmentation Fault at line 141? But in the config, line 141 is comment.

The full error is:

./anoperc: line 141: 29819 Segmentation fault      $ANOPROG $*
Unfortunately it seems Anope did not start successfully
This error has been logged in your Anope Log file
Located in /root/services/logs/
This may help you diagnose the problem
Further help may be available from http://www.anope.org/

The log only gives me:
[Jul 03 23:50:41 2007] Every UserKey must be different. It's for YOUR safety! Remember that!
[Jul 03 23:50:41 2007] Loading IRCD Protocol Module: [unreal32]

Can you see the problem from this piece of information?

Thanks in advance!

Jim

P.S. I like the tweakers.net icons! :)

That's the problem. Change the UserKey entries so they are different.

UserKeys are optional, just highly recommended. Services will start without them .. the problem is you are running services a the root user, Anope is smarter than that and will shutdown.

Re-install everything as a regular user and try again.

access is for levels, not xop.
