Here's an example :

[10:59] -OperServ- Match: xcom - xcom!xcom@dishnewbies-7EB04040.bchsia.telus.net
[10:59] -OperServ- AKILLING: xcom
[10:59] (SNotice) *** G:Line added for *@d207-216-93-61.bchsia.telus.net on Sun Aug 26 14:00:53 2007 GMT (from mOOse to expire at Tue Aug 28 14:00:53 2007 GMT: Temporary idle (not in any channel) AKILL.)
[10:59] -OperServ- Scan complete.

I have this in my Services.config
#
# Module specific configuration for os_notinchanel
#
###########################################################################

# OSNotInChanAkillTime [OPTIONAL]
#Module: os_notinchanlist
#
# This determines how long users will be Akilled if the AKILL argument of the notinchanlist
# is specified. Please note this is subject to ExpireTimeout.
# If this is not specified a default value of 30 minutes will be used instead.
#OSNotInChanAkillTime 30s

# OSNotInChanKillReason [OPTIONAL]
#Module: os_notinchanlist
#
# The reason that is given when killing users after notinchanlist is executed
# with the KILL argument.
# If this is not specified a default message will be used instead.
OSNotInChanKillReason "Client not in any channels, possibly a mailcious bot. If you feel this is a mistake email dishadmin@gmail.com with you nick IP and explanation."

# OSNotInChanAkillReason [OPTIONAL]
# Module: os_notinchanlist
#
# The reason that is given when akilling users after notinchanlist is executed
# with the AKILL argument.
# If this is not specified a default message will be used instead.
OSNotInChanAkillReason "Temporary idle (not in any channel) AKILL 30 minutes Please do not idle on SERVER."

# OSNotInChanIdleChan [OPTIONAL]
# Module: os_notinchanlist
#
# This specifies to which channel users will be joined when notinchanlist is
# executed with the JOIN argument. (Not needed if ircd is not supported.)
# If this is not specified a default channel (#idle) will be used instead.
#OSNotInChanIdleChan "#idle"

Do I need to recompile to change the time ?  is that the problem ?

what i find weird is that it put s a gline for 48 hours... it should default to 30 mins...
but that i am not surprised of is that it doesn't take the 30seconds... you left the directive commented out.
btw, it needs to be minimum 60s anyways...

Viper ,  yes I know lol,  but none of this explains why the modual is setting Akills to 48 hours  :)

Is anyone else having this problem ?  ..... I'm not sure what do to about it  :(

bit more info on akill...

then i really don't see the problem...
if you comment it out os_notinchanlist will add an akill for minimum 60 secs or whatever time period you specify.

Have you ever waited for the 30 minutes to run out though?

Maybe I need to explain how an anope AKILL works on most IRCd's (not just through os_notinchanlist, but any AKILL)...
When an akill is added through anope it always puts a 48hrs gline in place, no matter how long the akill is set to last. Don't ask me why it does this, but it does...
Then when the akill comes to expire, the next time the databases are updated (by default every 5 minutes) the gline which was set to last 48hrs will be removed if it is still in place...
So the fact that anope puts a 48hrs gline doesn't mean anope puts a 48hrs AKILL.
For more information on when akills expire, try using AKILL VIEW . :)

I'd like to add that the akill is stored in Services, not in the ircd. On most ircd's if you restart it, all glines are wiped but the akill will remain and may be re-added for another 48h if the user attempts to reconnect. IRCd's such as Bahamut retains akill data, thus not needing a gline reset.

OK !!  lol

Got it ,  althought it claims to  be a 48 hour kill it's NOT this time I ran notinchanlist akill then copied the Ips ,  (there are always a high number of Server Sitters) I asked the other admins not to run it til I let them know it was ok ,  and sure enough Althought it said 48hours it the akills I had set through the modual started to expire 1/2 hour later ...

THANK you all for your help  :)
