Title: Warning: unable to open log file services.log: Permission denied - Windows 7 Pro
Post by: John Riley on March 05, 2013, 06:54:47 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 32Bit for my server.  I'm only using the 32Bit version because I also run an old school DOS BBS and it just makes it easier to deal with.

Anyway my problem with Anope, which was running fine for the longest time, is this...
When my task scheduler starts Anope the startup shows a box with the following message:

Warning: unable to open log file services.log: Permission denied

That is the only message I get and then it returns to the c:\ prompt under
C:\Program Files\Anope\

Any ideas?  I've also tried adjusting the directory with attrib command.  No go.
Please help me if you think you can.

On Windows 7 and 8 I usually have to run Anope as an administrator (right click, right as administrator)
