botserv question
« on: August 17, 2006, 05:03:54 AM »

ok i have tried botserv out as channel holder bot (a bot that stays in the channel 24/7) but heres the problem..... after the last person leaves the channel the bot leaves then when someone joins the channel again the bot comes back. So im asking can i make the bot stay in the channel even after the last person leaves?

yeah thats one thing i thought was a bit strange, because any private channels that didnt have mlock. normal users who shouldnt have been in it could get in because the modes were lost. i did have a module to make BotServ stay in the channels but i dont have the slightest clue where it went \o/

I think that this would be better as a module .. perhaps bs_stayinchan and with a per channel toggle. If it is added to the core lets make it a conf file setting, BSStayInChan or the like.

Using the already existing syntax for BotServ SET command and the fact that because a bot will be assigned to a channel BotServ will already know which bot the command would only need to be:
/msg BotServ SET #channel stay {on|off}
