Database conversion from enc_none to enc_md5
« on: July 08, 2012, 06:40:01 PM »

Greetings,

Old version: Anope-1.7.18 (1214) M (enc_none)
New version: Anope-1.8.7 (3089) QM (enc_md5)

I search for a way to convert the old dbs that are not using encryption, to the last format with md5 encryption (so, without screwing up all passwords). I searched for a while but found nothing so far. Is there a way?

Thanks!

Upgrade the 1.7.18 enc_none databases to 1.8.7 (enc_none) first for best success.

Then from 1.8.7 you can use enc_switchover from http://modules.anope.org to switch from enc_none to enc_md5.

Thank you very much. It was tricky since some steps must be done in order and carefully, but at the end it worked. Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it.
