help with anope 1.7.15 for windows!
« on: October 05, 2006, 03:47:03 PM »

Hello,

I installed Anope 1.7.15 for windows and renamed the example.conf file too: services.conf configured it correctly, but when i try to startup anope(either with the anope.exe file or desktop shortcut) it doesnt run at all.

Any help would be appreciated,

Greetz,

are you sure you configured them correctly? you can take a look at the logs file located inside the services/data/logs folder ... or you can try to start your services in debug mode which will state more details ... start your services using:
anope.exe -debug -nofork

IRCDModule "unreal" if you're using unreal... might be "unreal32" not sure...

Make all 3 UserKey's random fitting the parameters specified in the config file.

make sure that you setup your link blocks properly on your IRCd and or services.conf

[Oct 05 15:46:07 2006] services.conf:166: Not enough parameters for `RemoteServer'

i'm guessing you are missing some parameters there ... it should be something like this:
RemoteServer 127.0.0.1 7007 "password"
making sure that 7007 is the listening port for your services on IRCd conf

[Oct 05 15:46:07 2006] services.conf: IRCDModule missing

remove the comment '#' infront of IRCDModule "unreal32" and remember to the correct ircd protocol module for your ircd's

[Oct 05 15:46:07 2006] services.conf: No ServicesRoot defined

ServicesRoot "YourNick"
you need to remove the comment '#' before it and assigned a proper root nick for the server

do not use the default keys, change the numbers to something without using the defaults numbers ... 7 random numbers..

still loads of errros. You have to edit the required options for Anope to run.

#ServicesRoot   "Goldline"

that needs uncommenting

Tom65789 Could you modify it in such a way that i can use it please & paste it back here or at: http://rafb.net/paste/ & name it "Goldline fixed services.conf file" or something like that, that would be great!

Goldline for the errors that anope gives if you search for them within the file (ServicesRoot) it will take you right to the line that is being talked about.

Goldline, we have tried to help you so many time when you were in the channel, also told we you to read carefully while you configured Anope. You need to read and do as it has been told in previous posts here.

tip is to use the search function:

http://forum.anope.org/misc.php?action=search

search for: Read error from server: No such file or directory (error num: 2)

should be a load of topics with the fix
