I tried sh3lls.net for about.. 4 months before I switched off. This is only me, but they give me very high ping when I shouldn't for some reason on their servers, when I have virtually no ping on some other servers. Although, some people probably have better luck than I do perhaps. Currently, I have an account with The Host Busters and so far, they have been fairing better than Sh3lls from what I've seen.

[edit] Fixed a typo, which I'm just now noticing... ain't that sad?

We have an account with sh3lls (anope.org/sponsors.php) and it's been fine apart from the hard disk failure the other week which was fixed very promptly.

Can't comment on the pings I'm afraid.

I haven't noticed any problems with iSpeeds, a network I'm on has 4 IRCd's on 3 servers with bots on a 4th iSpeeds server, and no problems that wouldn't affect any other provider.

I'm partial to DarkStar (darkstarllc.com) one of my servers runs on one of their shells and there have literally been NO problems. It hasn't ever gone down for anything other than routine maintenance. Their customer service is also really good.

If you're going to fork out decent money for a shell, I suggest going with a VPS from linode.com. -- 20 bucks for a decent VPS, which is about the same cost of a 'decent' IRCd shell. Deployment is really easy.. and they allow IRCds on 3 of their 4 data centers.

guys  i know u think twice to buy one server or ircd account
but dont ferget only one to protect u from deanil of service is gige box

now gige box is getin a bit on problems but still 1 one

well depense how many kids com around your servers and use ddos agains u
but samtime if u have account in (earth) box and u dont have any one to ddos u
and if samone else have same account in this (earth) box  and he have problems with kids
u goin to have that problem to

so thats why is little bit complicated about to find the best isp to host your servers

anyway trust me guys use gige and u dont have that much problems like in another isp like shakrtech or stamnius etc

anyway i will give u some advise how to protect ircd from floodin some plans and  strategy to cut down from 100% floodin to 25 maby 30% of floodin on my next posts in general chat

for now i have to go have nice time guys

regard tony

If you're not going to be constructive, don't post at all.
