Title: Help with socketengine on anope 1.8
Post by: Ethan Carr on February 20, 2011, 07:25:25 PM
Hello, I was creating my Services.conf file when this nasty little error decided to work its way in. I don't know what a socket engine is, or what value to enter, so if somebody could tell me what I could set (On Windows 7) to make it work. I thought it would be winsock32, but I decided to wait, because all of the 23 different things I tried failed miserably.

Sure you're not using 1.9?

Actually, I may be using 1.9, I do not know.
The error is as follows:
Unable to load socket engine winsock32

Tried right click run as administrator?

Windows vista/7 is annoying for this security stuff.

Thank you for that.
and yes, I always do Run as Administrator...
I think i just put in an incorrect socket engine value, will somebody look in their Services.conf and tell me what theirs is? (Under options)

The example config gives you the valid options for socketengine, you should start there
