defcon levels

DefCon4 13

i read the conf, but somehow i  dont understand that..
what does this mean? 4 (of 5)is the defcon level (i think)
but what does 13 mean?
i removed the # in front, reload services an played with the services.
i could nick register, chan register..

would somebody can explain me this please? :)

If you read the very next line it tells you what it means.

#DefCon4 23
#     No channel reg + No Nick Reg + No MLOCK changes + Use Reduced Session Limit
#           1        +      2      +         4        +            16

simple math. 1+2+4+16=23 See the chart at the top of the DefCon section, it can't be any more "layman".

- No New Nick Registrations
- No MLOCK changes
- Use Reduced Session Limit

when i want do disable the nick and channel reg, it must be 3 ?

to enable it, simply move the # in front of this line?

Those are the events you want to occur in DefCon 4 .. meaning if all you want to do is stop new registrations, you would have DefCon4 3 because 1 + 2 = 3. Yes to enable that definition of defcon4 you uncomment it.

/os reload will reload the services.conf file

Please note that all the defcon levels are to be defined and you can toggle between them using /os defcon <level>

i enabled all defcons in the config file, than /os reload, and tried /os defcon 4

i got this msg.

-OperServ- The Defcon system must be enabled in the services.conf file

maybe services must be restartet?
