Hello,
i have been searching for IRC Services that support saving its data into SQL Databases.
I read that Anope supports MySQL, but what about other Database Systems?
Most of my Server Data (like mail and system user) is already saved into a postgresql Database, so I would prefer to use postgresql with anope?
Is this possible?
If its not integrated.. how complex would it be to develope that?
I know the postgresql API so i could write a module, or maybe an odbc version would be even better.
greetings
Dennis

Yeah! I think MSSQL should also be support, it is a very important database server and I'm sure many anope users are on win2k3 servers. Would be great if it was possible to support it. I doubt it would be too much hassle :p

it would be nice if someone of the development team could say anything regarding this topic.
The viewsvn program is broken so I cant take a look at the mysql module source at the moment.

I've raised this to the dev's for someone to comment.

Has this ever been developed any further? id love to see mssql support.

Personally i dont see much point providing support for a commercial SQL system when there is a free cross platform SQL system that can be used instead.

there are a number of free cross platform free solutions - the point is, ideally we wouldnt care what the backend db system was - we'd simply use it and be happy.

I didnt ask that. Sometimes people would like to use the database they already own and operate on even if a free alternative exists.
Dont get me wrong i love how it works im just wondering if support for alternatives is already built in or will be?
thanks
