french translation
« on: July 23, 2008, 10:23:26 PM »

sorry if i missed a previous message.
I'm interested for giving help about the french translation of anope irc services.
I seen a few spelling mistakes that i could fix.
I would meet the author of this translation to give him my proposals, then participate to the community.

Thanks a lot for providing anope.

If you would like to correct the spelling mistakes you are welcome to update the fr.l file located in the languages directory and then submit a bug report with a copy of the updated version attached for review.

I provided my translation file by mail to dev@

As I was connected to the anope chan I seen peoples talking about misfunctions beetwen this .21 file against .22 file format. However I don't had feedback about what is to do for having the right file format.

sorry it took me some time to reply.. i saw this earlier, but then didn't have time to reply.. and then forgot  ::)

The Changes.lang file should list all changes made to the language files. Usually the devs only make changes in english, or possibly another language they know, but definately not all.
In that case, they either leave it be, in which case the information in a certain lang file may be incorrect, or they overwrite all language versions with the english language string for that specific change.

Below I included the Changes.lang for current svn and with the complete changes.lang for .22 because the one that was present in .22 wasn't up to date.
I also attached the current SVN language file for both french and english.

Maybe you can compare (with a program like WinMerge, or with the help of below Changes.lang) the attached fr.l to the one you originally edited (probably the fr.l from anope 1.7.21) to get an idea of what has changed and apply the same changes to the language file you send us. Otherwise we d have to overwrite all those missing or changes entries with english again :)

I provided a second time the translation, based this time on 1.9.1 and made a diff file beetwen the svn version then send it to team@anope.org
It has been refused one more time because, irc people said, it's not on the TODO list or something like that.
So i'm tired to try, i will now make a french translation operating for myself, based on 1.8.2 and without the agree of anope.
If anyone is interested about it, get in touch with irc@nemosphere.net
