An odd question (perhaps even answered somewhere already) but... what is the MAXIMUM password length for NickServ, and is there any way to adjust this value?  Thanks for your time.

this depends on the encryption module used.. in enc_none I think it is 30 or 31 characters.
And because the other encryption modules only store a fixed length hash no max length should apply there I think...

And for enc_none the max length cannot be increased.. this is all the length that has been allocated to passwords in the DB.

Note that the above only applies to 1.8...

I'm going to assume that enc_none is also 30-31?  And thank you for the quick reply and helpful info provided.

1.9 has config to change max password length but as said above using md5 or sha1 etc stores a fix length hash anyway.

1.8 I can confirm has a max length of 31 whereas the 1.9 default is 32 (tested)
