Logfile not found?
« on: August 29, 2006, 08:41:39 PM »

Hey.

I'm having a little problem.
I'm writing an ebuild for anope irc services for gentoo (will be in portage when I get the thing to behave).

Right now I'm having a little problem, I pass the option -log /var/log/anope.log to the services program.

It reports that the file /var/log/anope.log doesn't exist, but the problem is, that the file exists.
I have tried setting 0777 permissions on the file, but that doesn't change anything.

Any ideas? (Running 1.7.15)

as far as i know the 'Command Line Options' -log filename.log is for only the services log filename and not the location or place of the log files.

normally all the log files under logs/ folder are named as services.log.date ... so, the -log options state is for renaming the default services.log.date file to some other log file name only.

I am always doing things that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.
