UseStrictPrivmsg issue
« on: September 19, 2006, 02:23:18 PM »

Ok I added that to my conf and enabled it and now it's giving me issues. Each time I try /msg nickserv@services.network.com it doesn't work. Services are basically on a complete ignore won't function... any ideas?

One option is that i believe it's case sensitive.

On another note when activating UseStrictPrivMsg you have to restart Anope not just reload.

/nickserv and /ns are aliases configured in the ircd... not in anope.

spacedog may be your irc client doesn't support /msg nick!user@host and you must use /privmsg or /raw privmsg or configure your alias correctly and also your serivice server

umm... ezeki3l... it's /msg nickserv@services.network.com. It doesn't matter what the client is and the aliases are setup correctly. When you use aliases all they use is bleh@bleh.bleh.com.

its nick@server.network.tld not their hostmask. that could be your issue. its the services server name not the clients hostmask.

i was refering to EZEki3l's post where he says "/msg nick!user@host" as you also corrected. do you get an error if you do /msg nickserv? does your client have an ignore or blacklist where you must allow/deny certain hosts? do you have any client side scripts that could modify the functionality of the /msg command? you could try a
Code: [Select]
/quote privmsg nickserv@services.network.tld help to see if it is your client causing issues.
