error on loading services ... debug line included ...
« on: July 07, 2008, 07:35:42 PM »

Hi all,
I have just started another unreal/anope setup. Services start up and join as advertised, but most operserv commands do not work sending the message
'[19:31] -OperServ- Unknown command set.  "/msg OperServ HELP" for help.'

In services log, I am geting the following errors for anything seemingly os module related: -

'/services/modules/runtime/os_logonnews.so.yxoGwP: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory
debug: trying to load core module [os_logonnews]'

swap out [os_logonnews]' for almost all operserv modules as it seems all give the same error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled clean a new Anope to no avail.

I have used the same services/Unreal configs and have 6 other ircd's running on various servers, including two on the host server this one is on (both on dedicated ip's)
The link blocks are working as per other setups I have done.

If anyone can help, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks in advance.

cannot allocate memory will either be an out of RAM/swap space or your disk/quota is full so the temporary runtimes are unable to load.

Hi katsklaw,
Thanks for your reply.
I have figured out the problem .. and it was no fault wwith Anope :)  On upgrade of server management software, seems Shell Bomb Fork protection was turned on ... limiting the amount of resources. Reset it and the original settings returned. All working as advertised now.
