cs_autoowner (*nix)

I been working on this for weeks and can't fix it.

It appears cs_autoowner doesn't work.

1) The module is loaded.
-OperServ- Module: cs_autoowner [1.04] [3rd]

2) My Xop is OFF and I have added the user to 9999

3) I have added the new config to the services.conf file

# AutoOwner [OPTIONAL]
# Module: cs_autoowner
#
# Automatically give users owner level on channels where the users are at level
# specified by AutoOwnerLevel or higher

AutoOwner

# AutoOwnerLevel <level> [OPTIONAL]

I have restarted, reloaded many times and have done a complete fresh install of both anope and unreal.

and still the user only recieves & and not ~

Running: Anope 1.7.19 and Unreal 3.2.7

any ideas?

also in my log reports I get this:
debug: status: [6][Module Error, Error during load time or module returned MOD_STOP

Nothing wrong with the module, I use it daily.

Secondly that error could be about any module so we'll need more info to help you with that.

k, I think i might have found the problem, when I look at the program code it shows this

[cs_autoowner]

should the blocks () be there?

that is a color control codes. that wouldn't be the problem. currently i have no idea why it doesn't work and what OS are your running services anyway, windows or unix/linux ?

I've seen this before, and the problem has always been that XOP was actually not turned off on the channel (even though the person said it was)
do:
/chanserv SET #channel XOP OFF
/chanserv ACCESS #channel add nickname 9999
