Title: ChanServ IRC Operators Only
Post by: zonkber on February 12, 2007, 12:34:45 AM
Hello dudes and dudettes.

I'm trying to run a chat service that is limited to official channels only, not allowing other users to create their own as we are very topic specific and want to keep it that way.

My question is this: does restricting ChanServ to IRC operator use only mean that normal users who are on an access list for a channel cannot issue the commands via ChanServ that their access allows? Would they still be able to manipulate their own channel settings?

I tried looking amongst the forums to an answer to this question but couldn't find it. If I have missed it, I'm sorry.

Thanks in advance people.

CSOpersOnly is a literal statement, it means only opers can use ChanServ.

If you want users to be able to use ChanServ but not allowed to register channels, you'd need this module: http://modules.anope.org/viewmod.php?id=59

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, I'm using the stable 1.6 branch of Anope and that module no longer supports it. I'll have to try and hunt down the old module.

Cheers.
