Restarting Services

What's the command for restarting the anope services? I have tried rehash, ./rehash, ./services rehash,  rehash services, services restart (which works with unreal ircd) all to no avail. Nothing works.  

the box is a linux box, kernel ver. 2.6.18.1.dn1.p4  

I type services and I go right back to the prompt like it's supposed to. but then I try ps x and I see nothing listed for anope, should there be? If so, what will the process be listed as?

the issue I am trying to resolve is when I am in mIRC and I try NickServ or ChanServ I get this "Nick services are currently down, please try again later. I have double and triple chgecked my .conf files in Unreal and Anope. everything looks like it is supposed to.  Unreal runs fine with no issues,  but for some reason I cannot get Anope to run.

Any help or pointers anyone can give will be very much appreciated.

To restart services, you can do in shell console or IRC client. Go to your anope installation directory and you will see a tool anoperc. Type ./anoperc restart if you want services restarted.
In case you want to restart it from IRC client, just /msg OperServ restart. Make sure you are Services Admin or UP.

What anope process listed as? Here is mine:

Sorry to have to correct you GhosT, but the 1.6 branch doesn't have the anoperc script.

you can't control services through cmd line in the 1.6 branch

you don't need it to resolve your problem anyways though. just check what s in the logs in the log directory (it probably just didn't link up). also try /msg nickserv instead of /ns because the latter one can also be caused by a problem on the ircd's side.

Any ideas from these logs?  Looks like it starts, but when I try /Nickserv Johndoe I get the "Try again later" error

can mean a number of things, but i suspect you may be trying to connect to a port that s clients only.. not sure. You should run services in debug mode to get mode into

btw.. i just notice now, but you posted logs that are 3 days old... we don't need your entire history...
