I have unreal 3.2.7 and anope 1.6.5
I started unreal and oper myself. Then i started anope.
No if i want to try a command with /msg operserv i get access denied.
So for example if i want to shutdown anope i get:
*OperServ* SHUTDOWN
*OperServ* Access denied.
Did I missed anyting?
thanks

you need to be identified to a nick on the root list to use SHUTDOWN.
Also be advised that Anope 1.6.5 does not fully support Unreal 3.2.7, you WILL see oddities. It's best to use Anope 1.7.19 on Unreal 3.2.7.

my nick is on the servicesroot list in services.conf
i will update to Anope 1.7.19 and see if that one works :)
Thanks

still same problem with anope 1.7.19

Being in ServicesRoot alone is not enough .. as I said, you need to be identified to a nick in the Root list and opered.

Hi,
I've the same problem,
I've putted my nick (Mix359) in ServicesRoot, and I've Identifyed myself whit NS, but when I use the operserv command, it return me the access denied.
How I have to do to use the operserv?
(I'm using anope 1.7.21 whit unreal 3.2.7)
Thanks Mix

you need to be opered (at least global oper) as well...
-
but who can be oper me if I'm the root?
I'm the server admin, and I've installed anope...
-
you become ircop with /oper and that s an ircd command and configuration..
services require you to be ircops to get access to operserv though...
/oper'ing is the most basic ircop command.. i suggest you go over your ircd documentation again.

thanks
(excuse me, but I've not read the documentation...)

Not reading the documentation is NOT an excuse. It should be the very first thing you do. That goes for every program, not just Anope.
