moved to modules. The reason is that Anope is a services package that is to do things that normal clients/bot can not. this request has not only been requested before and pretty much ignored as a module but is well within the realm of client scripting.
The more stuff that you put into an application, the more that can go wrong, the more bloated it becomes. While there are several things that Anope does that is the realm of client scripting, it should still be kept to a minimum. this request can be easily handled by a 3rd party module and even easier as a client script. In fact, many clients already do this.
