currently I am using Dev-C++ as my editor, in the past I have used editpadlite.. for quick and dirty edits nothing beats nano

The main thing i like on Crimson Editor its ability to support different syntax like ASP, BASIC, C/C++, CSS, FROTRAN, HTML, TCL, JAVA, LATEX, PASCAL, PERL, PHP, PYTHON
... so depending on the code i wish to work, i select to its appropriate syntax and all the syntax and code gets highlighted. moreoever, you can also add you own syntax for it... :*

I don't do much inside the source code of any project except for the occasional tinkering, but I'll use nano or kate.
