Read error from server: Success (error num: 0)

there s your error... services can't connect to your ircd, check your link blocks. passwords, IPs, ports, servernames, everything link related

it might be the pass...

but which pass is it reffering to ? where is it set?

RemoteServer   xx.xx.xx.xx 7000 ""
RemoteServer2  xx.xx.xx.xx 7000 "xxx"
RemoteServer3  xx.xx.xx.xx 7000 "xxxy"

"" / "xxx" / "xxxy" -> where is this password set?

Thanks

i think i found that one....

now goes like this:

Read error from server: Connection reset by peer (error num: 104)

actually this is it:

[Jun 08 16:06:58 2006] FATAL: Can't connect to server: Connection refused

i suppose it's because the password is wrong. where can i find it?

[Edited on 8-6-2006 by mrsexoss]

Y:27:180:0:0:4000000

        C:127.0.0.1:mypass: 127.0.0.1 :: 30

        N:127.0.0.1: mypass: 127.0.0.1 :: 30

        U:127.0.0.1: *: *

        H: * ::127.0.0.1

(without the spaces...)

trying to connect to server
RemoteServer xx.xx.xx.xx 7000 "mypass"

and i always get the same thing i got in the first log i poste din this thread.

(...note that i use iptables to block all prots exept 7000 and other necessary ones...
and i cannot put in the nameserver eg: irc.blabla.net, because the dns is not yet transfered...)

is services trying to use a separate port or something? i can't figure out why it doesn't work, i tried different configurations but still didn't work...

Thanks

RemoteServer should be 127.0.0.1 since thats what your C/N lines are expecting.

If you want me to have a look, pm me ssh details.

Unless your firewall is blocking localhost traffic ... it's a moot point. Also "Connection refused" is caused by services or even clients connecting to a port that the ircd is not listening to or a firewall is blocking, but as I said before .. unless you are monitoring localhost for some weird reason .. the firewall isn't involved. Please insure that you have a P:Line for port 7000 on 127.0.0.1.

Your config lines are all wrong:

C:127.0.0.1:mypass: services.myhost.tld :: 30

N:127.0.0.1: mypass: services.myhost.tld :: 30

U:services.myhost.tld: *: *

H: * ::services.myhost.tld

If its saying the server exists, I'd guess you set ServerName in services.conf as irc.blah.com rather than services.blah.com
