Help?
« on: July 27, 2007, 04:29:40 AM »

I installed Anope 1.7.19 and put it in my default directory; C:\Program Files\Anope...

If i run Anope.exe; a command promt flashes real fast, and it says 'Can't open services.conf: No such fle or directory'

Where do i get services.conf, where do i put it?
Do i just edit /data/example.conf and rename it to services.conf ... but then where do i put?

This is not true for Windows versions.

services.conf needs to be in the Anope\Data directory. make a copy of example.conf and name it services.conf, edit to suit. Then double click on the anope.exe icon in the Anope directory.

If your services doesn't connect, then check the logs in the Anope\Data|logs directory.

Good Luck.

Thos 2 snippets don't match. The top one says that your ircd is not listening to the port and IP you specified and the bottom shows Services has connected. So what is your question?

these are the only errors i see..

and to fix that you have to make sure that all servers in your network are synced to UTC. And if you are connecting to a local ircd, this usually happens (in combination with unrealircd at least) when the ircd syncs its time using its built-in tool (bad solution) while anope simply uses the systems' clock. so the end up using a different clock.
solution: sync you box's time to UTC with NTP.

anope can't use compressed links, so no point in enabling it in your ircd's config

as for
Quote
[Jul 27 13:53:38 2007] debug: trying to load core module [ms_rsend]
[Jul 27 13:53:38 2007] debug: status: [6][Module Error, Error during load time or module returned MOD_STOP]

that s no error, that module simply unloads itself if it isn't needed..

You need to be patient.

1> you are not the only person we help
2> we have day jobs and other things that are more important in our lives than IRC
3> don't be so generic, offer logs as it's not really possible for what you claim to happen with operserv.

Anope is smart enough to only load the bots it knows your ircd supports .. for example you won't get HostServ if you use an ircd that doesn't support hostmangling .. such as Bahamut.

as I stated, they don't match .. the info given conflicts with the other .. one snippet says that services is not connected .. the other says it is.

Also there is proof in the second snippet that shows that HostServ and OperServ are indeed loaded.

Thats why i need help...

and the anope promt, still flashes by... can you atleats tell me how to fix the log form anope, and maybe it will fix everyhting in all?

if /msg operserv help works, there is nothing wrong with Anope, but your IRCd aliases.

That paste doesn't contain any vital errors either. ms_rsend failing to load will not stop Anope from starting. Run in debug mode again, this time paste the entire log.

It's better to give us far more information that we need than to continue this back and forth and not really get anything done. we've been talking for 4 days have haven't accomplished a single thing.

How do you run in debug? [Remember, I can't open up anope.exe properly, it just disappears]

Start > Run > type cmd > cd to anope installation folder
type anope.exe -debug

ImmortalGhost , it *is* incomplete, but as Jobe said I wasn't accusing you of anything. I know enough about Anope to know when information is missing from a debug log when Anope fails to start.

What's missing is unloading of modules AFTER an error is emitted. as well as the error it's self. Which *will* be logged in debug mode. What you pasted shows Anope starting 3 times but never stopping and there are no errors. There are a few warnings about some modules that couldn't load, but none of them will stop Anope from connecting.

1) Because it doesnt connect to my server...
2) Because I read the readme or soemthign that says when u run Anope.exe it will ask questions or soemthing? and i cant even get anope.exe to stay open, it flashes so fast...

Thats why, as i've explained, numerous times...
