Title: Per-Server logonnews
Post by: Joseph Kankowski on November 12, 2009, 01:17:46 AM
How about, in addition to global logonnews, there could be an option to add a logonnews per server.

A little more insight:
/os logonnews {server} add/del/list/etc
(same for random)
[if no server was provided, then it would be global]

And anybody who signed on that server would get that logonnews/randnews

:D

This should be handled either in the MOTD of the server or in a module for anope, not part of the core in my opinion

To me, some people dont read the motds to look for updates, notices stand out a bit more. Its also ahassle for networks using remote includes for motds, to edit one specifcally.

I agree with Trystan. I understand the usefulness of it but I would consider doing something like this at the local server level really.

If you want to remind people to read the /motd why not put that in the logonnews so they get the notice to tell them to read it?
