Title: NickServ RESETPASS
Post by: Mike.XIII on March 01, 2009, 02:46:43 AM
I just noticed SENDPASS is literal and actually sends the password, lol. I think this isn't a good way of doing things and is utterly useless since I do use encryption. A command to let users reset their password and have a randomly generated one sent to their email would be much better.

Edit: I just found this topic ( http://forum.anope.org/index.php?topic=1093.0 ) but it's old.

Have a look at http://modules.anope.org/viewmod.php?id=108

I'm not sure if it works with 1.8 at all though, but it's worth a try.

I think that command should be added to the 1.9 roadmap somewhere since if you're using encryption to store passwords you're not able to do NickServ SENDPASS.

I think this would be a decent feature to use, if not completely replace SENDPASS.
