Hi guys,
I've set up a bahamut ircd server version: 2.0.7
In the ircd.conf I've set up my nick to be part of the 'opers'.
Once I login to the ircd and I identify myself, I'm not able to login to the OperServ.
I get the error in the subject: No oper block for your nick.
I can easily run: /oper mynick mypassword,
If I query mynick with a whois I get the status as: IRC Operator
Do you guys have any ideas on what I can check out?
Thank you,
Gian

To get access to OperServ:
1. Make sure you are listed on the ServicesRoot config directive in services.conf.
In 1.9.8 it looks like:
oper
{
name = "nick"
type = "Services Root"
}
2. Make sure you have restarted Anope after changing the ServicesRoot value.
3. On IRC you must be identified to a ServicesRoot nick via NickServ.
4. You must be an Global IRC Operator.

Hi Jens,
thank you for your reply.
I'm indeed listed in the ServicesRoot config with the same code you wrote.
The flags I have now on my nick are: ghinosw
What am I missing?
Thank you,
Gian

Is your nick registered and identified? ( /nickserv help register and /nickserv help identify )
-
Yes.
My nick is registered and identified.
The Chanserv Op me in the channel as expected.
How can I troubleshoot the problem? I really don't get what I'm missing.

Are you using /operserv login ? You need this command only if your oper block (in services.conf) is configured with a password.
/operserv help should give you a long list with commands that you can access.

If I use: /operserv login -- no problem, in the status I get: you're now an IRC operator.
If I query the OperServ ... I'm unable to login there. It keeps saysing that there is no Oper block for my nick.
