Anope Doesn't Work
« on: July 16, 2010, 02:20:32 AM »

Hello,

I have installed the latest (stable) version of UnrealIRCd and Anope services.

When I try to use the chanserv or nickserv, I receive the following error(s):

Quote
nickserv :No such nick/channel
or
Quote
chanserv :No such nick/channel

If someone could walk me through on how to fix this, I'd be very greatful. :)

Thanks.

Did you start it and see it link successfully to the ircd (/whois nickserv)
we need more info, especially as we don't know if it's even starting.
If it's starting and linking, make sure services-server is set correctly in unrealircd.conf, it should match the ServerName in services.conf.

right, so that at least tells us services isn't connecting, and nothing else.
paste the services log file, that will tell us why.

are you /oper'd and seeing it connect ? Check that the services-server setting in unrealircd.conf is set correctly, it should match what you have in the services link block and ulines, eg. services.theforumsng.info.

As the log output quite clearly states, you're missing the ServicesRoot declaration in services.conf, and the UserKey appear to be non-unique. Fix those two errors and try again

may as well ask to see both configs, also there's no point in having 2 listen blocks for port 7000.

Okay, I've removed the two extra ports...Now there's nothing that uses port 7000.

right, this is why i would like to see your configs, your earlier pastes told us that anope was connecting to port 7000, it now cant do that as you removed the listen block for it.
