Title: When linking with inspircd 1.2
Post by: ShawnSmith on April 22, 2009, 09:17:50 PM
If I chose not to use the +q/+a and +h channel modes (Owner/Admin/Halfop respectively) Would that break Anope, or is Anope smart enough to know I don't use those modes?

It looks like, at the moment, it doesn't check for the existence of the module that provides those modes.  We might want to look into checking for that, though.

You shouldn't have to check for module(s), just check the 'PREFIX=(ov)@+' when connecting.

Yes, well, also at the moment, Anope doesn't even really bother with looking at that information like it should.  1.9.2 has it planned to rework the ability of Anope to see the capabilities of the IRCd it's connecting to.

As far as I know Anope doesn't even receive numeric reply 005 so it won't ever see 'PREFIX=(ov)@+'
