1.7.18 doesnt start (Linux)
« on: January 02, 2007, 07:07:57 AM »

Hello Dudes and first of all a happy new year :)

Well, I just set up UnrealIRCd 3.2.6 and needed some new services. So, Anope is the thing (since I remember Epona quite well). Okay, here we go:

Installing Anope in default directory didn't work, i guess there is a problem with the rights on the server. So I entered manually the path, and it's like:

/srv/www/vhosts/irc.mydomain.com/httpdocs/anope-1.7.18/services

and

/srv/www/vhosts/irc.mydomain.com/httpdocs/anope-1.7.18/services/data

So, ./Config is running with no Errormessages. Same with make, no error messages. A full configured service.conf is ready to go into /data but alle directories are empty!

So placing the services.conf in the directory of
/srv/www/vhosts/irc.mydomain.com/httpdocs/anope-1.7.18

will give me the following error message:

./services
Warning: unable to open log file services.log: No such file or directory
services.conf: PreNickServDB missing

Well, I guess there is just something going wrong with the directories and the permissions. anybody could help with this one?

Did you actually run 'make install'?

Sure.
I found the bug, PreNickServDB was disabled in services.conf. Enabling it will do the job.

All is fine now, thanks for this nice services and keep up the good work! :-)
