Cannot Register when Oper

Hey guys. I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I just don't know how to search for it properly, and all of my searches return absolutely no helpful results.

Upon installing Anope, I entered my nick as a service root op. I am also an oper for the main (unrealircd) IRC server.

However, I can't do -anything- unless I'm registered, but Anope will not let me register since I'm a service root for the services! I've already tried taking out my nick for the service root, oper, etc., and registering, but when I turn services back on I can't ident myself.

Any help? I can't register channels, etc.

Define your nick in ServicesRoot within services.conf

Register that nick
Make sure you have opered up on your ircd

Show us the output of /msg operserv staff and /msg nickserv status

Solved it - 1, that is exactly what I do, and it gave me the "you cant register this nick" error.

However, I realized that the oper command doesn't require any specific nick, so I just made the oper nick different than my IRC nick - solved it!
