Possible Module Update?
« on: June 22, 2011, 01:25:50 AM »

is it possible to get the module bs_noticeguest written by n00bie updated? or is there another module out there that does pretty much what this was supposed to be doing?

1) better be posted in module section
2) have you tried to install it and know its not working?
3) if yes can you provide some logs from the compile process and what happens when you try to load it?

After looking at the source briefly, I see a few things that could use some clean-up and the module could be made a bit more configurable. However, I didn't see anything that would prevent the module from working on 1.8 as-is.

Awaiting errors/logs.

i tested over and over, and was unable to find any bugs with it as is. it would be nice to have a way to set the option in the channel to notice the guest user about their nick, then have the channel auto ban them and kick them from the channel.

having a setting maybe that allows you to do something like

/msg chanserv set #channel guestdeny on {Guest Nick(s) To Block}
/msg chanserv set #channel guestdeny off

this way each channel could decide on their own if they wanted guest nicks to be blocked
some users actually use nicks like Guest12345 and some people like myself find that annoying and would like to be able to block them as well instead of just the networks guest nick that is preset.
