[Request) module
« on: September 28, 2006, 01:10:55 AM »

hi everyone..

i am requesting a module..

its a kinda game thing.. called Tag

what happens is a user can type !tag nick in a channel with a botserv bot in.. and this user is then tagged..

they are kicked from every channel.. and when they rejoin
a channel a lame message from the botserv bot comes to channel like haha look "nick" has a sticker on the back saying
kick me.. after 5 seconds they are then kickbaned from that channel to stop autojoin floods this happens for maybe 2 minutes.. in every channel they try and join..

only one user per network is allowed the !tag ..
only the tagged user can tag another user.. while he is tagged

they are then both ignored from tagging for 5 minutes or something..

it will be good also to have it send logs to logchan
so operators can keep an eye out for abuse..

will someone please make this module happen..
its all my own idea.. i think it could be fun..

I personally can see a potential for abuse and disruptive bahviour caused by this module. Although it does seem like a fun idea for an IRC version of tag.

well if i did take a go at it. would be a while before doing it because i would see it right at the bottom of my list because its something i dont see as important and as Jobe said i would only see it for abuse

1st hello jobe :)
2nd hello tom :)

it sounds like its open to abuse..
but if we do it correctly we could add an ignore so the tagged user can tag one other person while he is tagged then he is excluded from the game for a certain amount of time.. i said 5 mins before.. but it could be longer..

also the person that initated the tag is excluded for a
longer period of time..  maybe they only allowed to do
!tag once every 30 minutes..  the tagged person is not allowed to tag them back... it has to be a different nick..

i guess it will have to track nicks in some way.. :/
to make sure the users tagging is ignored from !tag for 30 mins.. and the tagged user is ignored also after they tag someone else..

if they dont tag someone else they keep the tag..
but the bans are removed after 3 mins in all previous
channels.. that they tried to join..

after this 3 minute period... botserv bot says upon them joining a channel.. "you have the tag"

if they dont tag someone for maybe 1 hour it gets auto removed by services.. game over could it be possible to
track the amount of tagged users this time... and send a message to all the users who were tagged.. like tagserv new record reached we tagged ### users this time?

i think while this "tagged" person has it.. no one else is allowed it.. ... for that hour.. unless they tag someone else..

also could there be an option to put out like who is tagged atm like /msg tagserv Tagged and it shows the current nick who is tagged?

maybe an option for opers to enable/disable it..

what do you think.. if we do it correctly there is no options for abuse.. cause it only involves one person at a time :)

tell me what you think..

If a few abuse prevention featurs could be built in i dont see why this couldnt be made.
