server removing services power on new chans
« on: August 24, 2007, 03:57:41 AM »

Hi!

Ok, ive come across a weird error I cant seem to fix.

Ok, so I installed UnrealIRCd3.2.7 and Anope (the newest) and everything was working fine, I made a couple of chans and bs bots.

But today, me and my friend started working on linking our servers and afte a succesfull link was established, an error came up.

When I or anyone created a new chan and added a bot, the new server would remove the bots power (-ao) and then the bot would automatically restore its power +ao.. and then, its just spam from then on, each battling to take/put power.

I have no idea how to fix this, I have added services.xxxxx.xxx to both servers u-line config and what not, but it still does that weird error.

Some enlighment is needed on this!~ xD

So yeah, server takes power away from bot, bot restores it, server takes it away again, an wola, spammmm

ps: the server that takes away the power does not have anope installed, is it necesary for it to have it?

verify the ulines again, cause in most cases it s those causing the problem
other possibility is TS desync. meaning the time on the 2 servers isn't exactly the same. you can check this with "/tsctl alltime".

and no only 1 services server can exist in a netwok

sync the time of your servers.
There is already a thread here, I couldn't find it so fast.

first sync the time manually then you can use module os_tssync to sync them by services. note that os_tssync only works if the timediff is not too high (aprox some minutes)!

Just a reminder, in most cases U:Lines are case sensitive so "Services" is NOT the same as "services"
