Title: NickServ Mlock
Post by: lavinpj1 on November 16, 2006, 08:52:53 PM
It'd be a nice idea to have mlock for umode built into nickserv so that modes can be set/removed on identify.

I think he means like a umode lock on nicks, such as umode +r which is already set on identify. Dunno what other umodes you'd want to lock though.

actually this one s interesting.... more of a way of setting a usermode on the nick the second you identify rather then actually locking it though.. don't think a user should be prevented to unset a umode...
would be handy for things like +R (sucks @ client side cause not all nets have the mode...)

unless some1 with more time then me gets it done before me, i ll add it to my modules' todo list :)

Thanks viper. There are many modes people may want to lock on/off. I personally set -R and +pTws on connect to most of my networks. I set on/off others on a few. I do this in mIRC script on connect event however it'd be handy to do it for the times when I may use pjirc, cgi irc, bitchx etc. from elsewhere.

There's clearly a few modes that'd need protecting in a module (all ircop only modes, +S and +r)

it wold be if someone can add a SRA command nickserv SETMLOCK (like auspice)

this is very usefull for some cases (like setting +qS on unreal for SA\SRA (kill\kick protect) or setting flood bypass modes on some game bots without adding them IRCop)

Please anyone from dev team think of that..

thank You

yeah, please anyone make such one... it's so far the only thing keeping me from switching to anope, because this feature is critical for mine chat network needs :(
